Use a custom MCP connection when developer mode is available for your account. Your workspace administrator may need to enable it. This guide does not assume a published Ask Gina marketplace listing.

Add Gina

  1. In ChatGPT, open Settings → Security and login → Developer mode and enable developer mode if available.
  2. Open Plugins, choose the plus button, and enter Ask Gina as the name.
  3. Under Connection, enter https://askgina.ai/ai/gina/mcp and use OAuth authentication.
  4. Create the connection, complete Gina authentication, and review its discovered tools.
  5. Enable the connection in your conversation.
Gina Read requests tools:read. Do not add an execution URL as a substitute for the read-only connection. ChatGPT may render structured results; a text result is sufficient to verify tools work. The host’s current instructions are in Connect from ChatGPT. If developer mode is unavailable, use another supported client.

Verify your first result

Ask “Use Gina to show ETH in USD over the past seven days.” Confirm a Gina tool ran and the response identifies ETH and the requested period.
